MUSIC
By jazzdogI first heard Joni Mitchell sing “Twisted,” but the gold standard version is Annie Ross who wrote the lyrics to this song, releasing it in 1952. The vocalese is based on a tenor sax solo by Wardell Gray from 1949. In my version, I’m accompanied by the great Seattle jazz pianist, John Hansen.
