I’ve been away from the blog for some time. In the interim, I’ve been working with Ken Atchity at AEI as he shops THE FIVE PENS OF JOHANN around and completing another novel. The new work is tentatively titled THE BIFURCATION OF DUNGSTEN CREASE. It’s a fun little scifi romp. You can check out the synopsis on the Word tab of this website.
Speaking of the website, I’ve revised it to be a bit more streamlined. I’m thinking of it as a living journal of my writing life and interests. You’ll find several tabs:
Words — Updates on current writing projects, excerpts, shorts.
Blog — Meandering thoughts about writing, travel, technology, food, music & books
Links — Links to sites I visit and to other authors
About — A bio with the sordid details of my existence, ways to be in touch
For those who have been following me, you’ll notice the three novels published through Champaign Books are no longer on the site. If you recall, they were crime thrillers set in Texas with a bit of a Carl Hiaasen or Elmore Leonard sensibility to them. I’ve recently re-acquired the rights and will probably be republishing them after some editing. Possibly under a pseudonym, just to keep the Texas crime stories separate from the scifi/fantasy fiction. The three novels were my introduction to publishing and book marketing, among other things. I haven’t made a definitive decision yet, but I might revise and republish with new titles, covers, and possibly a pseudonym.
As far as this blog goes, like you, I’ve got way too many links to blogs about ‘the life of a writer’. So, I’m going to mix it up a bit with several different themes:
The Word: book news, research, books of interest, updates on my own work
The Road: travel, destinations, drives primarily in the Pacific Northwest
The Ride: cars, motorcycles, & airplanes
The Tech: interesting technology and space developments
The Food: favorite recipes, adventures in cooking
I know we all have plenty to browse, so I’ll do my best to provide something interesting. We’ll see how it goes.
